RCMP charges man for passing emergency vehicle


Last Sunday at approximately 9:30 am, Glovertown RCMP received a complaint from an ambulance driver who was traveling on the Trans-Canada Highway near Gambo.

The driver reported that a vehicle pulled out and passed the ambulance while the ambulance was traveling with emergency equipment activated.

Police conducted an investigation and a 27-year-old man from Gambo was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for failing to yield the right-of-way to an emergency vehicle.

RCMP NL reminds motorists it is a violation of the Highway Traffic Act to overtake or fail to yield the right-of-way to any emergency vehicle that is traveling with emergency equipment activated.
