207 Killed in Horrific Bombings in Sri Lanka

It has been a devastating day in Sri Lanka. So far 207 people have been confirmed dead after several bomb attacks on churches and hotels on Easter Sunday.

450 people are injured.

Police conducted a raid outside Colombo and arrested seven people. Three police officers were killed in the raid.

Of the 207 dead, over 30 of them were foreigners.

Global Affairs Canada has no reports of any Canadian citizens being affected.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said, “Canada strongly condemns these heinous attacks on hotels and Christians at prayer in churches. Places of worship are sacred, where all should feel safe and secure. No one should be targeted because of their faith."
