Weather System to Impact Newfoundland and Labrador this Weekend #nlwx

The same low that is bringing heavy rainfall to Ontario, Quebec, and parts of the Maritimes, will put a damper on weekend plans in Newfoundland as well.

Snow will begin across Newfoundland on Friday afternoon and will change to rain. There could be some ice pellets along the south coast and central Newfoundland.

Spotty showers will last through Saturday.

Rainfall amounts will be highest along the southwestern coast of Newfoundland from Corner Brook to Channel-Port aux Basques. 20-30 mm is possible.

In the Wreckhouse area, winds may gust to 100 km/h on Friday morning.

Most of Labrador will see snow from this system, along the coast, there may be a rain-snow mix.
