Impaired Driver Strikes RCMP Officer #nltraffic

On Sunday, after 1:00 a.m., Corner Brook RCMP were investigating a complaint in Humber Village.
Two police officers were executing an arrest when a vehicle drove by and narrowly missed a marked police unit. The vehicle struck one of the officers, causing minor injury.
The driver took off, was located a short time later and found to be impaired.
The 18-year-old man from Deer Lake has been charged with impaired operation of a vehicle by a drug, dangerous operation of motor vehicle, assault with a weapon and assaulting a police officer.
He was held for court and has since been released.
He is due back in court on November 27, 2018.
