Mineral Industry Conference to Feature Public Lecture on Women in Mining
Mineral Resources Review - Eastern Canada's largest mineral industry conference and trade show - is happening October 31 to November 3 at the Delta Hotels St. John’s Conference Centre.
Along with technical sessions and networking opportunities, the conference features the Geological Survey’s annual public lecture.
The topic this year is Unearthing the Journey: Women in Mining, and will take place tomorrow (Thursday, November 1) at 7:30 p.m.
Mineral Resources Review is an annual conference and trade show made possible due to a partnership between the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and the provincial branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum.
Mining is one of the province’s most important industries. With $48 million in exploration expenditures and $3 billion in mineral shipments forecast in 2018, the mining industry is expected to directly employ 4,800 people (excluding construction) throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
