RCMP Lay Charges Under Cannabis Control Act

Two people are facing charges as a result of traffic stops conducted by the Burin Peninsula RCMP between October 20 and 22, 2018.

A 21-year-old female driver from Garnish and a 20-year-old male driver from Marystown were charged under the Cannabis Control Act for not having the cannabis properly sealed. A quantity of cannabis was seized.

Burin Peninsula RCMP remind the public that cannabis transported in a vehicle must be in the package in which it was purchased, with the seal unbroken, and not be readily available to any person in the vehicle, unless the person who is being transported is in a bus or taxi.
