Stephenville Men Charged with Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle #nltraffic

At 9:45 pm, on October 4, 2018, Bay St George RCMP received a call of two vehicles travelling at high speeds and possibly racing on the Hansen Highway in Stephenville.

Police were advised one of the vehicles had collided with the other vehicle twice and both sustained what appeared to be considerable damage. Before police could respond to the area, the vehicles had departed the scene.

Within several hours, officers were able to locate and seize both vehicles, as well as arrest the alleged drivers. As a result of the investigation, two 18-year-old men from the Stephenville area are facing Criminal Code charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, as well as several charges under the Highway Traffic Act.

Their first appearance date is set for December 3, 2018, in Stephenville Provincial Court.
