Traffic Stop Results in Fines and Arrest
At approximately 11:00 p.m. on October 4, 2018, Bay Roberts RCMP conducted a traffic stop in the town of Bay Roberts after a report was received that the occupants of the vehicle may be intoxicated.
The female driver was charged with three offences under the Highway Traffic Act: operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operation of a motor vehicle without registration and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s licence. She was also found to have several thousand dollars in unpaid traffic fines. The vehicle was impounded for thirty days.
Harbour Grace RCMP also attended and placed the male passenger under arrest for one count of failing to comply with court conditions. He was held overnight and will be brought before a judge in Harbour Grace Provincial Court.
