Muskrat Falls Project Never Should Have Been Started

An audit completed by Grant Thornton indicates that the Muskrat Falls Project never should have been started.

The governments claim at the time that Muskrat Falls was the least cost option for Newfoundland and Labrador's power need was wrong.

The report also indicated that Nalcor underestimated the annual operating costs by $70-million leading to a massive shortage of the funds allocated for the project.

In a shocking claim, the report also states that capital costs won’t be recovered for another 20 to 30 years.
