Trio Crash Stolen Vehicle on Veterans Memorial Highway #nltraffic

The RCMP, Bay de Grave Fire Department and local ambulances responded to a single vehicle rollover on Veterans Memorial Highway on Sunday at 10:00 am.

Two of the vehicle’s occupants were at the scene when police arrived, while a third had fled.

Further investigation revealed the vehicle involved was allegedly stolen from St. John's the night before. The vehicle is also believed to be part of a gas-and-dash which occurred in Bay Roberts moments earlier. The vehicle was also subject to a mischief complaint in Harbour Grace the same morning.

As a result of the investigation, a 15-year-old girl, a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man, all from St. John's, have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, theft under $5000, mischief under $5000 and breaches of court orders. All three suffered non-life threatening injuries as a result of the collision. They have been held in police custody pending a court appearance in Harbour Grace today.
