Liberal MP Crosses Floor #CDNpoli

The MP for the riding of Aurora—Oak Ridges—Richmond Hill, Leona Alleslev, has left the Federal Liberal Party to join the Conservative Party.

Alleslev cited her dissatisfaction with the government's leadership on the economy and foreign affairs.

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer named her Shadow Minister of Global Security.

Alleslev was elected in the Canadian federal election in 2015.

This is the first time a Liberal has crossed the floor since Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took over the party.
