Consultations on Emergency Health Services and Community Paramedicine Legislation

The Provincial Government will hold public consultations to help inform the drafting of new Emergency Health Services and Community Paramedicine Legislation.

New, dedicated emergency medical services legislation will bring Newfoundland and Labrador in line with other jurisdictions, and increase accountability and establish provincial ambulance performance standards.

Through the consultation process, the department will seek input on how to ensure the new legislation consolidates and improves existing legislation, allows for the adoption of national guidelines, improves system transparency and accountability, reduces regulatory confusion, and implements program standards.

In-person sessions will be held in five locations across the province in St. John’s, Corner Brook, Grand Falls-Windsor, Gander, Happy Valley- Goose Bay, and Clarenville.
