Off-Duty RCMP Officer Threatened by Irate Driver

An off-duty officer was out walking his dog and observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed in the community of Cupids.

The officer waved his hands in a downward motion and mouthed the words “slow down” towards the driver.

In response, the woman laid on her horn and continued driving by.

A short time later a man returned in a vehicle and stopped and confronted the off-duty officer about motioning to the woman to slow down.

The off-duty officer identified himself as a RCMP officer to the man who became irate and uttered a threat to cause bodily harm to the off-duty officer.

The 47-year-old man from Cupids now faces a criminal charge as a result of his actions. A court date has been set for November 7, 2018.
