New Call Centre to Create up to 500 Jobs in St. John’s
A new call centre will open in St. John’s that will create 500 jobs.
The Governments of Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada are teaming up to provide a $1.725 million investment to S&P Data, which will support the establishment of a 500 person in-bound contact centre in St. John’s.
Over the next five years, it is expected that the S&P Data contact centre will generate up to $131 million in economic activity.
The total cost of the company’s expansion to St. John’s is close to $3 million. The Provincial Government is providing a $975,000 repayable loan to assist with start-up costs, as well as a $250,000 contribution to fund training activities. ACOA is providing a repayable investment of $500,000 through its Business Development Program for the project.
S&P Data has signed a five-year lease to operate at the Village Shopping Centre. The company has a tenured client base, including many of the largest telecommunications companies in North America.
