Pope Visits Ireland

Pope Francis is visiting Ireland.

The Catholic Church has faced a sharp decline in Ireland over the past few years.

The decline is attributed mainly to scandal.

Right now there are only 25 people in the priesthood in Ireland.

The predominant religion in the Republic of Ireland is Christianity, with the largest church being the Roman Catholic Church.

Pope Francis met with Irish President Michael Higgins.

The visit marks the first time a pope has visited Ireland in almost 40 years.
