RNC Investigating Home Invasion
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating a home invasion at a residence in St. John’s.
On Thursday afternoon at approximately 4:00 p.m., officers with RNC’s Operational Patrol Services Division, Criminal Investigation Division, Forensic Identification Services and Police Dog Services responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Penneywell Road. During the altercation inside the residence between the suspects and the occupants, a firearm was discharged.
Paramedics from Eastern Health attended the scene, transported victims to the hospital and treated them for non-life threatening injuries that were not related to the firearm. No arrests have been made at this point in the investigation as the suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.
Investigators have been canvassing the neighborhood and are interested in speaking with anyone who may have been in the area of Penneywell Road between 3:45 p.m. and 4:05 p.m. and have CCTV footage and/or dash cam video.
