NORAD Conducting Tests Along Labrador Coast

Next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday NORAD will be conducting tests of the North Warning System along the coast of Labrador.

The North Warning System is a joint United States and Canadian early-warning radar system for the atmospheric air defense of North America.

It provides surveillance of airspace from potential incursions or attacks from across North America's polar region.

The test will be conducted using unarmed-unmanned aerial targets by the US Navy and two Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 Hornet fighter jets.

There will be no danger to the public.
