Frank Butt To Be Reinstated As Carbonear Mayor

The former Mayor of Carbonear Frank Butt, who was removed by Councillors over a conflict of interest, will be reinstated as Mayor.

Justice Robert Stack said that Butt was not in a conflict of interest.

The Town of Carbonear says arrangements are being made to have Frank Butt reinstated as mayor. Back in December council voted unanimously to remove Butt as Mayor.

It all stemmed from a letter received by the town that Butt made a motion to demolish a building near his property. A move that could have increased the value of his property.
