RNC Kept Busy With Bad Drivers #nltraffic
The RNC were kept busy over the weekend with several bad drivers.
Police conducted a traffic safety stop on Sagona Ave Mount Pearl and noted that the 47 year old male operator was under the influence of alcohol. As a result of roadside tests, he was issued a 7 day suspension for operating while over the provincial legal limit and his vehicle was impounded.
POlice also conducted a traffic safety stop on the CBS Highway in CBS after noticing a motorcycle with expired registration. Further investigation revealed that the operator, a 30 year old male, was also operating without valid insurance. He was issued summary offence tickets and released but his motorcycle was seized.
A 19-year-old male in the center city was stopped and determined that the vehicle he was operating was uninsured and was not transferred. He was issued summary offence tickets for both offences and was released but his vehicle was impounded.
Finally police responded to a complaint of an impaired driver in a residential area of Conception Bay South. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation a 69 year old female was charged with impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer after she failed by over three times the legal limit. The driver was also issued a summary offence ticket for operating a vehicle with a suspended license and the vehicle was impounded. The accused was released to the HSC Ambulance Department when she requested treatment for an unrelated issue. She will appear in court at a later date.
