Explosion at TRIMAC Building in Mount Pearl


There were no injuries after an explosion at the TRIMAC Building in Mount Pearl this morning.

Three people were sent to hospital for observation.

Around 8:30 am this morning employees were working on a fuel tank that contained gasoline and the fumes may have caused the explosion.

There were nine people on the site at the time.

Damage to the building is significant the roof was blown to shreds, there is debris over a large area.

The exact cause of the explosion is under investigation.

Trimac provides bulk transport and related distribution and industrial services including fleet maintenance, tank washing, transloading and logistics.
