Pair Arrested After Theft


On June 6, 2018 at 7:55 p.m. RNC Patrol Services responded to a theft in progress at a business in the Millbrook Mall. As a result, a 22 year old male was arrested at scene.

A second male, a 21 year old, had fled the area. At 8:55 p.m. the second male, the 21 year old male, was arrested without incident on Beothuck Crescent. During the investigation it was determined that these two males were subject to active police investigations relating to theft complaints from a business in the Murphy Square area on May 24, 2018 and June 5, 2018.

There was another unrelated investigation ongoing in relation to the 21 year old male in breach of a court order for being on the business property at the Millbrook Mall on June 5, 2018 as well. As a result of these investigations, the two males were held in custody pending a court appearance on June 7. The 22 year old male has been charged with two counts of Theft under $5000.

The 21 year old has been charged with three counts of Theft Under $5000, Four counts of Breach of Probation and one count of Breach of Petty Trespass Act. The 21 year old also had several outstanding matters before the courts at the time of arrest. These incidents remain under investigation.
