Disposal Sites for Needles Coming to St. John's, NL


There is a new harm reduction initiative for St. Johns that is being launched by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, City of St. John's and Community Action Group.

Drug users in St. John's will have a safe way to disposable way for needles by the use of outdoor sharp stations. This is the latest for harm reduction for St. John's. There will be two large sharp disposal stations that have been set up. One is located in Tessier Park which is in the centre of the city, the other is located on the banks of Quidi Vidi Lake.

There are also going to be smaller sharps containers that will be put into place around St. John's in the next few weeks.
