BMO and CIBC Target of Hacker Group


BMO were warned on Monday by a hacker group that they had potentially stolen the personal information of thousands of customers.

BMO said that up to 50,000 people could be affected.

CIBC owned "Simplii Financial" was also targeted putting 40,000 customers perosnal information at risk. A spokesperson for BMO, Paul Gammal, said that "a threat was made to make it public."
