Update on Grace Hospital Nursing Residence

Steve Crocker, Minister of Transportation and Works, says that the provincial government has determined it has no use for the site of the former Grace Hospital Nursing Residence.

The government will soon begin hazmat and property assessments at the site.

This will inform next steps, including the sale of the property and removal of the building.

The government said that it didn't tear down the nurses' residence in 2007, when the Grace Hospital was demolished, because alternative uses for the building were still being explored.
