Officer Who Arrested Van Attack Suspect Doesn't Want Hero Label

Constable Ken Lam, the officer who subdued the suspect in the Toronto van attack has been considered a hero after he approached the suspect to arrest him without any backup.

The suspect yelled to the officer to shoot him, however the officer arrested the suspect unharmed. The suspect, 25 year old Alek Minassian, claimed he had a gun. Deputy Chief Peter Yuen says the police officer doesn't want to be considered a hero.

The officer is undergoing a debriefing process and after-care program. The standard for those who face traumatic situations.

In the attack ten people were killed and another 14 people were injured.
