Dow Jones Drops Over 400 Points Following Trump Announcement


The Dow Jones lost over 400 points on Thursday after President Donald Trump announced that the United States will add a 25 per cent tariff on all imported steel and a 10 per cent tariff on all imported aluminum.

Industries were quick to respond saying that these tariffs will raise prices and cause job cuts.

The Dow Jones closed at 24,608.98. That is a price decrease of 420.22 points.

The Dow Jones, is a stock market index that shows how 30 large publicly owned companies based in the United States have traded during a standard trading session in the stock market.
