Morneau Delivers National Budget
Finance Minister Bill Morneau delivered Canada's national budget on Tuesday afternoon.
Titled "Equality + Growth" the budget has plans to spend billions of dollars to close the gap for women in the workforce.
There will also be funds for Canada's opioid crisis, funds to improve the living conditions for Indigenous people and how to deal with the asylum seekers from the United States.
The government also looks to create a new national pharma-care program and cut down on offshore tax havens.
Government is also making investments to support researchers, and providing researchers with equipment needed to make scientific breakthroughs and drive innovation.
Morneau said that Canada has added 600,000 new jobs in the past two years and the national unemployment rate is the lowest in over 40 years.
