Premier Congratulates Kaetlyn Osmond
Premier Dwight Ball has extended congratulates to Kaetlyn Osmond for her Olympic success.
Kaetlyn Osmond has captured a Bronze medal in figure skating at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Osmond also won a gold medal in the figure skating team event.
Ms. Osmond scored 152.15 in her long program for a combined score of 231.02. This is the first time a Canadian has won an Olympic medal in women’s singles since 2010. This is also a historic medal win as it boosts Canada’s total in Pyeongchang to 27, an all-time high for the country at a Winter Games.
In the 2012–13 season, Osmond won her first international title at the 2012 Nebelhorn Trophy competition. She then made her senior Grand Prix debut at the 2012 Skate Canada event, where she captured the gold medal. Kaetlyn is a three-time Canadian national champion (2013, 2014, 2017), 2017 Grand Prix Final bronze medalist, a 2017 World silver medalist and, in 2014 won an Olympic silver medal as a member of Team Canada at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.
