Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour, Al Hawkins, is offering best wishes to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians celebrating Lunar New Year.

Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year and the Spring Festival among some cultures, is a time for family reunions, traditional foods and activities, and hope for a prosperous, peaceful year ahead. The celebration began on Friday.

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is committed to promoting equity and diversity throughout the province. The Lunar New Year is one of the many events and holidays highlighted in the 2018 Diversity Calendar, which assists schools, municipalities, businesses and community organizations in planning multicultural activities.
