Government Releases NL Guide to Immigration

The Provincial Government released a comprehensive guide to help newcomers, employers, communities, and all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians better understand immigration to the province.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Guide to Immigration was developed by the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism, and provides information on the benefits of immigration, immigration programs, and the role of communities and other stakeholders in supporting immigration in Newfoundland and Labrador. It meets a key commitment in The Way Forward on Immigration in Newfoundland and Labrador to develop resources to educate partners on their roles in attracting, settling and retaining immigrants, as well as inform and educate employers on immigration programs and processes.

Complementing the guide, the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism will hold regular online and in-person information sessions for employers interested in learning more about immigration to Newfoundland and Labrador.

As noted in The Way Forward, the Provincial Government has committed to increasing immigration to the province to 1,700 newcomers annually by 2022.
