Ballistic Missile Alert Causes Panic in Hawaii
There were some tense moments in Hawaii on Saturday after an alert was sent to cell phones warning of a ballistic missile heading for the state.
The alert turned our to be a false alarm.
Across the State cell phones were sent an alert that said a ballistic missile was heading for Hawaii and people needed to seek immediate shelter.
People abandoned their cars and fled their homes.
Forty minutes later another alert was sent out correcting the mistake.
The alert said: "BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL."
