Government Calls for Expression of Interest to Help Internationally-Trained Individuals Have Credent

An Expression of Interest has been issued for projects to support the assessment and recognition of foreign qualifications, enabling internationally-trained individuals to pursue employment in their fields.

This is the third Expression of Interest through the federal-provincial Foreign Qualification Recognition Agreement, which is supported by $800,000 in federal funding. Successful applicants to the second call for proposals were announced in December and include the Association for New Canadians, College of Physicians and Surgeons, College of the North Atlantic, and Landscape Newfoundland and Labrador.

Eligible applicants to the Expression of Interest include regulatory authorities with responsibility for regulating occupations in Newfoundland and Labrador, organizations serving immigrants, and educational institutions. Other stakeholders may be considered. However, the regulatory authority must be a partner in the project.
