$1B Class Action Lawsuit Filed Against Loblaws
Irene Breckon, a senior citizen and anti-poverty activist, has launched a $1 Billion lawsuit against food giant Loblaws over their price-fixing of bread that continued for 14 years.
The case was launched on behalf of all Canadians who purchased bread at the stores since January 2001.
Law firm Sotos LLP is heading up the case.
George Weston Ltd., Canada Bread Company and Walmart Canada Corp. among the defendants.
The company has offered a $25 gift card as an apology to customers.
