Amtrak Train Derails Killing Several People

Several people are dead after an Amtrak train making the first-ever run along a new route derailed near Tacoma, Washington this morning.

A crew member told the dispatcher, "'We got cars everywhere and down onto the highway."

Some of the cars were flung onto the highway below the tracks.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, several vehicles on Interstate 5 were struck by falling train cars.

Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board are on the way to the area.

There is no word on what may have caused the crash.
