The Minister of Health and Community Services, John Haggie, will be in Carbonear Tomorrow for the official naming of the new long-term care home.
The event will take place in the multi-purpose room at the long-term care home at 11:30 a.m.
Haggie will be joined by Steve Crocker, Minister of Transportation and Works and MHA for Carbonear - Trinity - Bay de Verde, representatives of the Royal Canadian Legion, David Diamond, CEO of Eastern Health, and Frank Butt, Mayor of Carbonear.
The project has taken years to complete. The new Carbonear long-term care facility is located adjacent to the Carbonear General Hospital.
The new facility is a four-story residence which includes space for recreation therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and spiritual care. Like the new St. John’s facility, it will have a mixture of bedroom types: private, semi- private, and double rooms that are larger to accommodate residents who wish to share.
