Carbonear Man Arrested After Alleged Assault on Teen Girl

Matthew Dwyer, a 19-year-old male from Carbonear, has been arrested following an assault that happened at a house party against teen girl.

RCMP allege that the 19-year-old is responsible for the assault and have charged him with assault causing bodily harm.

On November 11, a 17-year-old girl had been badly beaten following a physical altercation at a house party.

Dwyer was held in custody for the remainder of the weekend, and released on Tuesday, Nov. 14. There were several witnesses to the assault.

Dwyer will appear in Harbour Grace provincial court on December 20.
