Four Officers Under Investigation

The Department of Justice has confirmed that there are four police officers in this province under investigation.

Three officers are from the RNC while one is an RCMP member.

A male member of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is under investigation for an alleged sexual assault.

Another RNC member, Joe Smyth, is being investigated for his handling of a traffic stop in May. Smyth is the officer who shot and killed Donald Dunphy.

There are no other details on the other two incidents.
