It seems like the oilpatch is getting some of its energy back.

The economy in Alberta has grown 6.7% this year according to the Conference Board of Canada.

Alberta is still on track for a $10.3 billion deficit, but signs point to a growing economy.

The provincial government predicted the Alberta economy will grow by four per cent in 2017 — up from the 2.6 per cent forecast in last spring’s budget.

Although Alberta has a presence in many industries such as agriculture, forestry, education, tourism, finance, and manufacturing, the politics and culture of the province have been closely tied to the production of fossil energy since the 1940s.
