Scheer calls on Finance Minister Bill Morneau to Resign

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer is calling on Finance Minister Bill Morneau to resign after what is being described as a 'cloud of suspicion'

Scheer said that the Conservative caucus has lost faith in Morneau.

Scheer said, "the finance minister isn't competent, and he can't follow the rules, so why is he still in cabinet? He misled Canadians about putting his assets in a blind trust ... and he introduced pension legislation that could benefit himself and his family's company."

Morneau said he did sell shares before he entered office and donated $5 million in proceeds to charity.

Trudeau said that this is nothing more than a "smear campaign" by an opposition.
