Bulk Carrier Stranded off Coast

There is a stranded bulk carrier, the MV Baby Leeyn (formerly MV Jana), drifting south of Cape St. Mary’s.

The Canadian Coast Guard's Environmental Response is working with the owner on implementing a response plan.

There are 11 people on board, but the vessel has not declared a distress.

The Coast Guard Environmental Response team is en-route and working with the owner on implementing a response plan, while the crew is continuing to work on fixing the engine.
