New School Officially Opened in St. John's


On Friday there was a celebration marking the official opening of École intermédiaire et secondaire francophone de Saint-Jean.

The multi-level school is located on Rickett’s Road in St. John’s.

Dale Kirby, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, participated in the event and was joined by representatives of the Conseil scolaire francophone provincial de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador, school administration, teachers, staff, students and members of the community.

École intermédiaire et secondaire francophone de Saint-Jean offers junior high (Grades 7-8) and high school (Grades 9-12) instruction. The school includes nine classrooms, a gymnasium, a cafeteria and a learning resource centre. The total investment in École intermédiaire et secondaire francophone de Saint-Jean was approximately $338,000.
