High Turnout at Advance Polls for Mount Pearl North By-election #nlpoli


On Tuesday voters will go to the polls to select a new MHA for the district of Mount Pearl North.

Advance polling took place yesterday, official say that 1,046 people cast ballots.

There are 9,975 eligible voters in the district.

The by-election was called when former MHA Steve Kent resigned from the post when he took a job with the city of Mount Pearl.

There are four candidates looking for the spot:

  • Liberal Candidate Jim Burton

  • PC Candidate Jim Lester

  • NDP Nicole Kieley and

  • Independent Hudson Stratton
