Protesters Block Bell Island Ferry #nltraffic

A group of protesters made sure that their voices were heard yesterday on Bell Island and in Portugal Cove St Phillips.

The MV Legionnaire Ferry is being sent to the Fogo Island run.

Protesters blocked the ramp after all the vehicles departed the boat after the final run last night.

The decision to move the boat came from the Department of Transportation and Works. The boat the normally serves Fogo is the MV Veteran, which is undergoing repairs until early 2018.

RNC were on the scene for a time but the protests remained peaceful.
