Almost 22 Percent of Canadians are Immigrants

The latest census from 2016 shows that almost 22 percent of Canadians are immigrants.

A figure that is the highest its been in 85 years.

There are more immigrants, visible minorities and Indigenous people in the country.

Between 2011 and 2016 Canada welcomed 1.2 million new immigrants.

The Indigenous population could be 2.5 million by 2036.

Meanwhile by 2036, 30 percent of the population may be immigrants.
