Goodale Wants U.S. to do More to Stop Illegal Border Crossings

Canada's Public Safety Minister has said that he wants America to do their part to stop migrants entering Canada along our southern border.

Goodale said that some migrants are obtaining U.S. travel visas for the sole purpose of coming to Canada.

Secretary of Homeland Security Elaine Duke was very receptive to the suggestion according to Goodale.

Thousands of migrants have illegally entered Canada from the United States over the Summer and it is a trend that is continuing today.

G7 ministers also spent a lot of time talking about fighting extremism.

Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will meet with Ambassador Kelly Craft, the new U.S. Ambasador to Canada in Ottawa today.
