Provincial Government Celebrates Foster Families Week

Yesterday, the Provincial Government, along with the Newfoundland and Labrador Foster Families Association and foster families throughout the province, celebrated the kick-off to National Foster Families Week, which takes place October 15-21. National Foster Families Week is held annually during the third week of October.

The Department of Children, Seniors and Social Development works closely with the Newfoundland and Labrador Foster Families Association to recruit and support foster parents and recognizes the vital role they play in our province.

There are approximately 605 foster families located throughout Newfoundland and Labrador dedicated to helping children and youth by providing safe and nurturing homes.
