Government Announces Infrastructure in Happy Valley-Goose Bay

The Provincial Government announced that it is contributing over $220,000 to upgrade the wastewater and sewer systems in the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay. The total value of the projects which also include federal and municipal components is approximately $620,000.
Funding is being provided for four projects, including upgrading sewage lift stations #1 and #7, improving storm drainage, and replacing a hospital pressure-reducing valve. The Provincial Government share for these projects is over $222,000, the federal share is up to $203,000 and the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay will contribute $197,000.
These projects are part of 77 projects that have been allocated funding under the Small Communities Fund of the New Building Canada Fund. Provincial and federal governments recently announced approximately $29.3 million has been allocated under the fund for municipal infrastructure projects. The provincial share in these projects is $17.4 million, and the federal share is up to $11.9 million.
