RNC Investigating Break and Entry and Tool Theft

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating a theft of construction equipment.

On Sunday, September 17, 2017 at approximately 3:00pm, RNC Patrol Services responded to a report that a secured tool storage unit at a Habitat for Humanity build site on Chateau Avenue in CBS had been broken into. Police noted that the lock had been cut off and the door was open when they arrived. Upon further investigation, it has been determined that over forty tools were taken from the site having a value of more than $5600. It is believed that the break in occurred sometime between 4:00pm on Saturday (September 16) and Sunday (September 17) 2:00pm. Investigators are interested in speaking with anybody who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in that area during the above mentioned time period. Additionally, we are releasing a list with some of the tools that were stolen along with serial numbers. We are also reminding the public that possession of stolen property is a criminal offence. Anyone with information on this break and entry is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
