4 people dead in 2 vehicle collision, on Avalon Peninsula.


4 people were confirmed dead by police Sunday around 5 pm just west of Chapel Arm exit.

A 41-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman and a child, were all pronounced dead as paramedics arrived at scene.

A 18-year-old woman who was driving the second vehicle was also pronounced dead at the scene. A 16 year old male who was the passenger was injured in the crash and brought to hospital in St. John's.

As crews worked to clean up the scene the traffic was backed up both directions. The road was open again by 11 p.m. police are still investigating and they will continue to clear the area Monday morning.
