Two Portuguese Man-of-war sighted in Louisbourg Nova Scotia.

On Sunday a North Sydney woman spotted two Portuguese Man-of- war along the shore line of Kennington cove Beach. These jelly fish type creatures are actually a colony of individual organisms called polyps, which can be venomous and their sting can be extremely painful, it is more dangerous to be stung by them in the water, Some people have died from such a sting. The Department of Natural Resources should be contacted right away if these are spotted and individuals are said to stay out of the water, and away from them on land if coming in close proximity to these organisms.
